ABOUT THE POSITION

We are in search of a Safety subject matter expert to join our Client Services team as the newest Safety Business Partner. As a Safety Business Partner, you will partner with Bizhaven clients to promote and ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations. Throughout each week you will visit client job sites to perform workplace inspections, identify occupational hazards, audit personal protective equipment, and review and update policies and postings. You will showcase your expertise by proactively identifying and creating reasonable solutions to maintain a healthy and safe workplace culture and keeping clients up to date with Cal/OSHA & OSHA regulations.

THE DAY-TO-DAY

  • Conduct client hazard assessments and on-site audits to identify exposures and make recommendations to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and illnesses.
  • Conduct employee and supervisor level training on applicable safety standards, based on clients’ needs.
  • Review safety training and recommend revisions, improvements, and updates.
  • Conduct safety inspections and audits to assess client compliance with safety regulations.
  • Draft and assist the client in implementing safety programs and policies.
  • Analyze client injury and illness data to identify trends and determine safety training and/or program/policy priorities and to produce meaningful reports and recommendations to minimize risk.
  • Work independently to provide on-site/virtual Health and Safety support
  • Communicate with clients and people of varying levels of professionalism, education, etc.
  • Accurately understand clients’ needs and build relationships
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required for the Position

  • Extensive knowledge of company safety policies and applicable Federal and California Occupational Safety and Health Administration (Cal/OSHA) standards.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels
  • Demonstrate good judgment and foresight, moral character, honesty, tact, fairness, lack of prejudice and desire to help when dealing with people
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a fierce attention to detail.
  • Ability to conduct training.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Bachelor’s degree in health and Safety, Environmental Health, or related field required. Experience may be used to fulfill the education requirement. We prefer at least one year of related experience.
  • Ability to travel throughout facility to conduct safety inspections. (indoor/outdoor) – agriculture (fields), construction jobsites, manufacturing facilities – multiple industries and environments.
  • Valid CA driver’s license and current vehicle insurance/registration
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
